How it works
- The customer places a COD order.
- A 6 digit code is sent to the email on the order.
- The customer enters it on the order page.
- You ship only confirmed orders.
Email, SMS or WhatsApp
Email needs no gateway and no per message fee, and sends from your own site's mail. SMS and WhatsApp codes reach people who ignore email but need a provider and cost money per message.
When to ask
Asking every customer adds friction. Better to ask only when risk is medium or high.
Make sure mail arrives
Codes are useless if the email lands in spam. Send from an authenticated domain and test with a few providers.
How Threshold does it. Pro sends a 6 digit code by email after a COD order with no advance, valid for 30 minutes, and can require it for risky orders. SMS and WhatsApp codes are planned and not available yet. See the docs.
