Disable cash on delivery by pincode, state or country in WooCommerce

COD does not have to be all or nothing. Offering it only where delivery works is one of the quickest ways to cut refusals.

Start with your own data

Look at refusals by pincode or state in your orders. Areas that keep failing are candidates for an advance or for no COD at all.

Ways to target

  • Country and state.
  • Postcode ranges, such as 110001 to 110099.
  • Wildcards, such as 4220*.
  • Customer type, such as guests, or by user role.
  • Product, category, shipping class or shipping method.

Hide, allow or ask for an advance

A rule can hide COD, offer it only to some customers, or ask for an advance. Rules run top to bottom and the first match wins, so put the specific ones first.

Say why

A short message such as Cash on delivery is not available in this area, please pay online is better than a missing option.

How Threshold does it. Rules read as one line each, support ranges and wildcards, and can carry their own message. Free includes 3 rules and Pro has no limit. See the rules docs. Pro also adds a pincode checker for product pages.

Questions

Can I allow COD in only a few pincodes?

Yes. Use a rule that offers COD only for those postcode ranges.

Does this work with the block checkout?
