The COD risk score: signs of an order that will be refused

No single sign proves an order is bad. Several together make it worth a call, an advance or a code.

Bands and actions

By default a score from 30 is medium and 60 or more is high. For each band you choose an action: nothing, flag the order, ask for an advance, ask for an email code, or block.

Why the reasons matter

A bare number is hard to trust. The order screen should show each sign that added points, so you can judge it and tune the weights.

Check that it works

Compare refusal rates by score band in your own orders. If high scores are not refused more often, change the weights.

How Threshold does it. Pro scores every COD order from 0 to 100 using only the order, a short built in list of throwaway email services, India's pincode numbering and your own order history. No outside service is called, and it never runs on ordinary page views. Try the interactive meter on the home page.

Questions

Can I change the weights?

Yes. Every sign has points you can change, and so do the band limits.

Does it send data to a third party?

No. It runs on your own site.
