Track your COD refusal rate in WooCommerce

A few numbers tell you whether your COD settings are working. Check them monthly and change one thing at a time.

The numbers worth watching

  • COD orders and how many had an advance.
  • Advance collected and how many advances were paid.
  • Balance still to collect on delivery.
  • Refusal rate: refused orders divided by finished orders.
  • Cost of refusals: shipping lost, less any advance kept.

The comparison that matters

Put orders with an advance next to orders without one. If the advance does not lower refusals in your store, reduce it. If it does, consider asking on more orders.

Break it down

By pincode and by product, to find where refusals concentrate. Fix the biggest source first.

Count honestly

A refusal is counted only when someone records it, so train the team to use the order action every time.

How Threshold does it. The free dashboard shows the last 30 days and a widget on the WordPress Dashboard. Pro stretches it from 7 to 365 days, adds CSV export and refusals by pincode. See the home page for a sample, built on a fictional demo store.

Questions
